Technology has done wonders in the world today. It has created advances in science and medicine that have saved people’s lives; as well as made helping individuals much easier, smoother, and quicker. One cannot look down upon technological change across the board, because they most likely benefit from it in more than one way. For instance, those who enjoy motorsports find that vehicles are getting better and better, as the years go by. At the same time, technology can be blamed for sucking the life out of people, especially younger generations that are born into the technological revolution. What this means is that the youth of first world countries, like America, have a virtual reality for every physical reality that they could partake in growing up. This means sports and social, human interactions. One of the most common mediums that can be blamed for this is video games. Here, fantasy and reality collide to create a package that is so captivating, teenagers and children can use it to substitute for everything they would do under the sun, literally.

            So, it is no wonder that the term video game addict has cropped up in recent years. It is an all too serious problem, which requires genuine attention; even going as far as claiming the lives of the truly afflicted. The last thing that a family should do is cosign such behavior. Some may say that it is not as bad as a drug addiction, but at least drugs allow for periods of sociability. Video game addictions usually have kids making friends solely online, which is truly sad. When looking at this through adult eyes, it is very hard to understand the appeal of it. But, at least there is video game addiction treatment to address the problem. Neglect will not work.

            I, for one, despise the club environment that plagues the population of human beings under thirty years old. At the same time, if you are over thirty and still going to clubs; you need a certain level of help that very few will be able to provide you. Frankly, you’re a loser and need to find someone to settle down with. Unfortunately, this will most likely be difficult for you given your history. Both men and women apply here. Is this harsh? Absolutely, but you needed to hear it. Anyways, what goes on in clubs is none of my business, as I don’t support, engage, or recognize mindless debauchery. However, I am completely aware that some people walk into the club environment, at a given age, and leave drug as drug addicts and alcoholics. If this wasn’t true, than club drug treatment wouldn’t be on the rise and as popular as it currently is.

            The particular drug being spoken of here is ecstasy; a truly nasty substance that is theoretically very similar to meth, with more euphoria. The major problem with it is that club drug abuse intensely deprives and sucks the life out of one’s brain. It takes the ability to feel pleasure, multiplies it to unnatural levels, than leaves it depleted for days. Continual use and brain cells are being killed at an incredibly fast rate, even in comparison to a drug like heroin. Its addictive nature is very real as well, as no one ever uses ecstasy only once. Also, practically no one will only use ecstasy by itself. It will be common for its users to use other drugs regularly, as well as continue experimentation elsewhere. Being that it is used in clubs, there is no doubt, in my mind, that it causes alcoholism simultaneously.

            For example, while it may sound impossible; addiction to television is real. Some people get so sucked in, to the point where the TV is their life and they are living through it. It is incredibly sad when this type of behavior is in your face and possibly living in your home. If these are the circumstances, you too will believe that it is real and requires treatment.

            On the other side of overly stimulating media is porn obsession, which has become more and more common and real during the past decade, or so. It corresponds to sex addiction, but it can be perceived as somewhat darker. While its specifics are truly not worth talking about here; it is important to note that it is real and affects people of all ages, particularly males. If it were up to me, this industry would cease to exist immediately. But, intervening on this will require true professionals, as it can be incredibly awkward and frightening to the person in question. The last thing they need is more guilt and shame in their life. At the end of the day, though, this problem is entirely treatable.

Don’t belittle your addiction to marijuana. Not only that, but give yourself the benefit of overcoming your addiction in a comfortable and safe space.

Without treating an eating disorder is horrible because eating disorders can cause chronic heart problems as well as lead to death.
